Privacy

We don’t use cookies or advertising trackers. We count clicks and page views on our own server without collecting personal data, and we only hold your details if you email us.

What we collect

  • No cookies. This site sets no cookies for visitors and loads no third-party analytics or advertising scripts.
  • Click and page counts. When you click a retailer link or view a page, our own server adds one to a counter for that page, product and retailer. We don’t record your IP address, a device ID or anything else that identifies you.
  • Server logs. Like any web server, ours writes a standard access log of each request, including the IP address, for security and troubleshooting. Our host rotates these logs as they grow and clears them after about 30 days.
  • Emails you send us. Your address and message, kept only as long as we need to reply.

Where the site is hosted

The site, its database and its server logs are hosted by xCloud, a managed WordPress host, on a server run by Vultr in Toronto, Canada. We run the site from the United Kingdom, so when we read the logs or our click counts, we do it from there.

When you click through to a retailer

Retailer links take you to the retailer’s own site. If the link is an affiliate link, the retailer or its affiliate network may set its own cookies to credit the sale to us. Their privacy policies apply from that point.

Who is responsible

United States

If you are in the United States

We don’t sell or share personal information, and we don’t use it for targeted advertising. Because we don’t track visitors across sites, there is nothing to opt out of. Browser opt-out signals such as Global Privacy Control, which California’s Attorney General treats as a valid opt-out request, are respected by default.

Your rights: some state privacy laws, such as California’s CCPA, give residents the right to know what personal information a business holds about them, and to correct or delete it. California’s law covers larger businesses than ours (see the Attorney General’s CCPA page), but we give the same rights to everyone who asks: email the address above. We reply within 30 days and treat everyone who asks the same way.

Children: this site is not directed to children under 13, and we don’t knowingly collect their personal information (see the FTC’s Children’s Online Privacy Protection Rule).

Canada

If you are in Canada

Where your data is stored: in Canada. The site and its server logs sit on a server in Toronto, run by Vultr for our host, xCloud. We are based in the United Kingdom and read the logs and click counts from there, and email you send us is held by our email provider, which may store it outside Canada. Information held in or read from another country can be accessed by that country’s courts, law enforcement and national security authorities under its laws, as the Office of the Privacy Commissioner of Canada’s guidance explains.

Privacy officer: the owner of AMCD Solutions, reachable at the email above, is accountable for the personal information we hold.

Your rights: under Canada’s Personal Information Protection and Electronic Documents Act (PIPEDA) you can ask for the personal information we hold about you and ask us to correct it. We reply within 30 days, the limit section 8 of the Act sets.

Complaints: if you are unhappy with how we handle your information, you can report a concern to the Office of the Privacy Commissioner of Canada. The Commissioner asks people to raise it with the organization first, so please email us and we will try to put it right.

Québec: Québec’s private-sector privacy law, as updated by Law 25, also applies to visitors there. The person in charge of the protection of personal information is the owner of AMCD Solutions, reachable at the email above (by default the role belongs to a business’s highest authority, as the Commission d’accès à l’information explains). You can also complain to the Commission d’accès à l’information du Québec at cai.gouv.qc.ca.

Retention: server logs about 30 days; emails 12 months after the conversation ends.
